KARACHI: Accidents involving heavy traffic continue to claim innocent lives in Karachi after a youth was killed when his motorcycle was hit by a mini-truck in North Karachi, ARY News reported.
Rescue sources stated that the mishap occurred in the Sector 7-C area of North Karachi on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was in his teens and has not yet been identified, rescue sources added.
Meanwhile, the driver fled the scene following the accident, but the conductor was apprehended by locals/authorities.
The body of the deceased was transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The death toll from traffic accidents has reached an alarming level, with 607 individuals losing their lives in various accidents across the city this year..
Additionally, a whopping 7,500 people have been wounded in these incidents as well.
There is an urgent need to take measures to control the rising number of accidents and injuries in the metropolis.
