GB Independence Day being celebrated today

The Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan is being celebrated today with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.

In this regard, a ceremony was held at the Martyrs’ Monument, Chinar Bagh, in Gilgit.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah emphasized that the day calls upon us to pledge our loyalty to the homeland and commit to playing an active role in the development of the region.

He further remarked that freedom is a magnificent blessing, and it is the duty of us all to safeguard it.

Earlier, Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Chief Minister Amjad Hussain hoisted the national flag in Gilgit.

They laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Monument and offered Fateha.
