KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi has recovered 435 acres of valuable land in Dhabeji, district Thatta, ARY News reported.
NAB Karachi stated that the land is worth Rs 2.61 billion, adding that action was taken against Sajid Haroon, Fawad Anwar, and others as part of an ongoing inquiry.
NAB further informed that the investigation is being conducted into an alleged illegal extension of the 435-acre lease. The anti-corruption body also accused the suspects of using fake documents to unlawfully convert the land for aquaculture farming.
Through the continuous pursuit of NAB and cooperation from the Sindh government, the illegal lease was cancelled.
NAB noted that the Secretary of Land Utilization for Sindh ordered the cancellation of the lease on August 20. Following the cancellation, the 435 acres of land have once again been restored to the possession of the Sindh government.
