SHC constitutes judicial commission to probe Mir Raza Murder

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday constituted a judicial commission to probe the murder of Mir Raza, ARY News reported.

Furthermore, the Chief Justice of the SHC nominated Justice Umar Sial to head the judicial commission.

Justice Umar Sial will lead the inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s murder.

Acting upon the request of the Sindh government, the SHC Chief Justice issued a formal notification for the formation of the commission and the nomination of its head.

Moreover, the SHC directorate informed the Sindh Home Department of the decision via an official letter.

Previously, the Sindh government had approved the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the killing of the young businessman.

The summary for the commission was formally approved through circulation by members of the Sindh cabinet, which also approved the Terms of Reference (TORs) for the investigation.

The original murder case was registered at the Ferozabad Police Station.

Meanwhile, objecting to the judicial commission, the family of the slain Mir Raza filed a petition in the SHC challenging it.

The SHC conducted a hearing today and issued notices to all parties to submit their responses by August 31.
