Long march will be held on September 27, no change in date: KP CM

PESHAWAR, August 23, 2026: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has made it clear that the long march will be held on September 27 and there will be no change in the date, ARY News reported.

Speaking in Buner, the chief minister said that despite the Supreme Court’s decision, PTI founder Imran Khan was not treated at Shifa International Hospital.

Sohail Afridi said he would personally lead the long march and would take millions of people to Islamabad.

He directed party workers to start preparations, saying they would return successful on September 27.

Earlier, addressing participants of the Street Movement at Abu Bakr Siddiq Chowk in Hangu, the KP chief minister said the government had thrown the court’s decision regarding Imran Khan into the dustbin.

He said some people had once again proved that they considered themselves above the Constitution and law.

Sohail Afridi said that whenever an institution issued an order against them, it was implemented within an hour, but court orders regarding Imran Khan were not implemented by those who considered themselves above the law.

He said if powerful people could not be punished, then weaker prisoners should also be released.

“It cannot happen that there is one law for the weak and another for the powerful in the same country,” he said.

The KP chief minister said the purpose of Imran Khan’s struggle was to ensure one law for both the weak and the powerful.

He said people need to think about where the country is being taken, adding that farmers and industrialists are facing difficulties.
