Earlier, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) nominated Deputy Director Shehzad Akbar as its representative on the joint investigation team (JIT) probing the Mir Raza case after objections were raised over the agency’s previously nominated officer.
The replacement was made after Mir Hussain, father of the slain entrepreneur, requested the replacement of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) representative nominated for the joint investigation team (JIT) probing his son’s murder.
In a video statement, Mir Hussain thanked the Sindh government for forming the JIT but said he had learnt through the media that Arslan Manzoor had been nominated as the NCCIA representative.
He said Arslan Manzoor was a competent officer, but he wanted someone else to be appointed to the team.
Mir Hussain said the nominated officer had been working on the case for the past two months and had been pursuing the suicide narrative.
He stressed that an officer who had not previously worked on the case should be appointed to the JIT.
