Pakistan students can now apply for German scholarships offering free PhD and €1,500 monthly stipend

ISLAMABAD: A simplified procedure has emerged for Pakistani students applying for free education and a monthly allowance in Germany.

Germany has formally announced the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Scholarship 2027 for international students interested in pursuing higher education and research. This scholarship provides complete financial support for students wishing to pursue a PhD at any recognized German university.

The scheme not only offers free education but also grants selected students comprehensive financial benefits, including a monthly stipend of €1,500, a monthly mobility allowance of €100, and a one-time lump-sum allowance of €20.

The scholarship is awarded for a maximum period of three years.

Eligibility and Departments

Students can apply for any discipline except medical education.

Candidates must provide proof of admission to a PhD program at a German university, along with a supervisorship letter from a university professor or lecturer.

Selected candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the German language by clearing the B-2 level and providing official certification.

According to the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation’s values, a commitment to social services and a strong academic record will also be taken into consideration.

Applicants must submit their educational degrees, transcripts, research proposal, supervisor confirmation letter, German language certificate, and recommendation letters.

Application Deadline

Interested candidates must submit their applications for the Rosa Luxemburg Scholarship through the online portal by October 1, 2026.
