ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain has responded to Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb’s post on X, advising her to send a legal notice to Punjab Chief Minister’s spokesperson Kausar Kazmi over what he described as misleading claims.
In his response, Chaudhry Salik Hussain said it would be better for the Punjab chief minister to send a legal notice to her spokesperson, Kausar Kazmi, over the claims.
@Marriyum_A It is better to send that legal notice to your own official Spokesperson of @MaryamNSharif CM Punjab, @SyedKousarKazmi in case of these misleading claims, because I surely haven’t received mine yet. Waiting for it so that a proper response can be given.

The federal minister said he had not received any legal notice so far and assured that he was waiting for it so he could give an appropriate response.
His remarks came after Marriyum Aurangzeb and Punjab Chief Minister’s spokesperson Kausar Kazmi issued separate posts on X regarding alleged irregularities in the Khanewal beautification project.
Kausar Kazmi said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had taken notice of alleged irregularities in Khanewal, while Marriyum Aurangzeb said claims about alleged additional payments in the Khanewal beautification project were being presented incorrectly.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz sent a legal notice to Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain over his corruption allegations against the Punjab government, seeking Rs5 billion in damages.
The legal notice was sent through Maryam Nawaz’s lawyer, who accused Chaudhry Salik Hussain of making baseless and misleading allegations against the Punjab government.
According to the notice, Chaudhry Salik made the remarks during an exclusive interview with ARY News, saying that he frequently heard stories of corruption in Punjab.
He also claimed that there must be cupboards full of corruption files in Punjab rather than just files.
The notice stated that Chaudhry Salik Hussain had failed to provide any evidence to support his allegations.
It further described the allegations as baseless, unverified and defamatory, adding that the interview did not identify any documented incident, investigation or formal complaint to substantiate the claims.
ARY News and its reporter Naeem Ashraf Butt have also been sent legal notices over the broadcast of the interview.
