Karachi may receive light rain as hot and humid weather persists

KARACHI: As mainly hot and humid weather prevails in Karachi there is forecast of light rainfall in the city from Monday (today).

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said the hot and humid weather is expected to persist in the metropolis with temperatures may soar to 40°Celsius.

The Met Office has forecast rainfall in Karachi and the outskirts from Monday (today) evening or night till Wednesday with occasional gaps.

Rain with wind and thunderstorms is expected in other districts of Sindh including Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Mirpur Khas, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Thatta and Badin from 13th (evening/night) to 16th September with occasional gaps.

Rainfall is also expected in Balochistan’s Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel and surroundings during the forecast period.

Met office has said that monsoon currents are also penetrating in upper parts of the country. A westerly wave is also likely to enter upper parts of the country during the weekend and likely to strengthen on 14th September (Monday).
