QUETTA: Police have solved a Rs2 billion bank heist in Hub after 18 months, arresting three suspects, including a university student who considered himself a professor of Netflix’s hit series ‘Money Heist’, ARY News reported.
In a major breakthrough, police arrested three of the five suspects involved in the daring bank robbery. The arrested suspects were identified as Zohaib, Murtaza and Bilal.
Interestingly, Zohaib was reportedly inspired by Netflix’s popular Spanish series Money Heist and considered himself a ‘professor’, just like the mastermind character in the show.
According to police, all three arrested suspects belong to Qalat district. Police also recovered two cars, a motorcycle and a rickshaw purchased with the stolen money.
Investigators further recovered mobile phones bought with the robbery proceeds, while efforts are underway to arrest the two remaining absconding suspects.
Police said Zohaib and Ghulam Murtaza were fourth-semester university students, while Bilal Akram graduated from the university in 2025.
Police officials added that SHO Yar Muhammad was injured when the suspects opened fire during the robbery.
The three suspects have been sent to jail after completing their 14-day physical remand.
