KMC lifts ban on govt vehicles and petrol usage

KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced the lifting of the ban on the use of government vehicles and petrol, ARY News reported.

It is pertinent to mention that the city administration had imposed the restriction in March of this year due to rising fuel costs amid the Iran-US conflict.

Following this, KMC Financial Advisor Gulzar Ali issued a notification regarding the reversal.

As per the notification, the KMC has withdrawn its decision to ground 60 percent of its vehicles.

The use of government vehicles will return to normal starting September 1, as the KMC has removed all restrictions previously imposed for fuel savings and austerity measures.

Previously, the KMC had grounded 60 percent of government vehicles, affecting officers up to Grade 17.
