A Karachi consumer filed suit over defective fridge and a warranty dispute, ARY News reported on Friday.
As per the details, citizen named Yasir Ashfaq, through his lawyer Usman Farooq, has filed a damages suit against the company and the dealer at the Consumer Court, alleging fraud, financial loss and mental distress.
According to the plaintiff’s counsel, the citizen purchased a refrigerator worth Rs102,000 from a dealer at Saddar’s Hashoo Centre. Although the purchase receipt mentioned a warranty, the dealer allegedly failed to issue a formal warranty card.
The lawyer further submitted that when the customer approached the company regarding the warranty, it refused to recognise the shop as its authorised dealer.
The plaintiff has sought Rs3.5 million in compensation for the defective product, alleged misrepresentation, financial loss and mental distress.

The counsel argued that selling defective products and failing to honour warranty commitments amounted to unlawful practices. He also urged the court to take action against the company and the dealer for allegedly misleading consumers.
