Pakistan received a surge in worker remittances last month, with inflows crossing key benchmarks set earlier this year. Analysts say the trend reflects stronger demand for skilled Pakistani labour in the Gulf, Europe, and North America.
The State Bank noted that consistent dollar inflows have supported foreign-exchange reserves and improved sentiment in local currency markets. Economists cautioned, however, that long-term stability will depend on export growth and energy import management.
Business groups in Karachi and Lahore welcomed the development, saying lower exchange-rate volatility helps small manufacturers plan purchases and payroll more confidently.
