ISLAMABAD: Prominent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Ali Muhammad Khan has suggested that both the government and his party resume negotiations, ARY News reported.
Taking to his X handle, the PTI MNA urged both sides to restart dialogue immediately, stating that “talks should be started today to save the country from destruction.”
The appeal comes as PTI’s long march toward Islamabad—which set off from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat—reached Karak after talks with the federal government failed to break the deadlock.
The Dialogue should Resume today. Let’s save the country from disaster.

KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi set off from Lakki Marwat’s Gandi Chowk, stating that he would announce the party’s next course of action on Thursday, October 8, when the convoy reaches Khairabad. He later announced that the caravan has camped in Karak for the night.
Earlier, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi in Peshawar to discuss constitutional measures aimed at protecting the province from terrorism and destruction, ARY News reported.
The meeting discussed the constitutional role of the Governor House in case governor’s rule or an emergency is imposed in the province.
The participants also expressed concern over the provincial government changing its position after reaching consensus during negotiations.
Fears that terrorists could take advantage of the situation during the long march were also discussed. The use of government resources by the chief minister and provincial ministers during the long march also came under discussion.
The use of helicopters and other government resources during the long march was termed a violation of court decisions.
Chief Secretary and Inspector General of Police were also present at the meeting.
Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi shared a video of Sohail Afridi travelling by helicopter from Peshawar to Lakki Marwat.
In his post, the interior minister said Sohail Afridi must have travelled to Lakki Marwat for official work, adding that the chief minister’s visit was possibly related to the security situation and counter-terrorism efforts.
Before this , Mohsin Naqvi has accused the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) of sabotaging talks between the government and the opposition.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Sunday afternoon, the Interior Minister stated that if anyone dies during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march, Sohail Afridi will be held responsible.
Naqvi said that most points in the agreement had been agreed upon during negotiations.
“The agreement had been prepared,” Naqvi said, adding that he took a copy to President Zardari.
The Interior Minister explained that after presenting the draft to the President, he learned upon his return that several changes had been made to it by the KP Chief Minister.
Naqvi added that if CM Afridi was going to make the final decisions, he should have attended the talks himself.
He further emphasized, “The responsibility for the failure of the negotiations lies solely with the KP Chief Minister.”
