DI KHAN: Security forces killed three terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday, according to security sources.
The sources said the operation was conducted on the basis of intelligence information. They said security forces’ continued operations were proving effective in weakening terrorist networks and disrupting their activities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for eliminating the three terrorists, saying successful operations against Fitna al-Khawarij were a major blow to terrorist networks.
In a statement, the prime minister said security forces would continue operations until the complete eradication of terrorism.
He said the security forces were determined to rid Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the country of terrorism, adding that the state remained committed to eliminating Fitna al-Khawarij.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the security forces for the successful operation in Dera Ismail Khan.
He commended the professionalism and capabilities of the security personnel, saying the killing of three terrorists demonstrated the forces’ readiness and ability to counter terrorist threats.
Naqvi said security forces remained committed to eliminating terrorism from the country and preventing terrorist elements from achieving their objectives.
He paid tribute to the personnel who foiled the terrorists’ plans, saying the nation takes pride in the security forces working to protect the country.
The interior minister said the people of Pakistan stood shoulder to shoulder with the security forces in the fight against terrorism and supported their efforts to safeguard the country.
