KARACHI: The judicial commission established to probe the murder of young entrepreneur Mir Raza decided on Monday to visit the location where his body was found. Commission head Justice Umar Sial ordered the Sindh government’s focal person to make necessary arrangements for the visit, ARY News reported.
The Judicial Commission has also summoned the case’s Investigation Officer (IO) and Mir Raza’s family to the crime site. Justice Umar Sial stated that the commission will personally inspect the locations connected to the murder.
He noted that the inspection visit would lend weight to the recommendations submitted to the Sindh government. He instructed the Sindh government’s focal person for the case, Javed Abro, to make the necessary preparations for the visit to the crime scene and the guest house.
He further ordered IO Siraj Lashari to accompany Mir Raza’s family and their lawyer today at 11:30 AM during the visits to the crime scene and guest house to assist the commission.
Justice Sial informed that Kashif Iftikhar’s statement will be recorded on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, alongside the statement of IO Siraj Lashari.
He requested Registrar Abdul Majid to immediately notify the Sindh government focal person Javed Abro, Mir Raza’s family, their lawyer Jibran Nasir, and IO DSP Siraj Leghari following the issuance of orders at 8:30 AM today.
The Judicial Commission also lauded the work of two investigative journalists regarding suspected vehicles, noting that, according to information provided to him, the police had done very little progress on that front. He directed both journalists to deliver a presentation on the suspected vehicles to the commission.
He instructed the journalists to demonstrate how the movements of the suspected vehicles align with the map of the area, ordering the registrar to invite both journalists to present to the commission on October 6 at 11:00 AM.
