PIA announces air hostess Vacancies for Karachi, apply online by October 7

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a recruitment drive for air hostesses at its Karachi base, ARY News reported.

The national carrier is seeking applications from female candidates aged 20 to 28 for cabin crew positions.

Interested candidates can submit their resumes and applications online through the PIA portal.

According to a PIA communique, the deadline to submit online applications is October 7.

A bachelor’s degree has been set as the minimum educational qualification for the post of air hostess.

Earlier, PIA initiated recruitment drives for its Lahore and Islamabad bases.

Earlier, the PIA imposed new restrictions on air hostesses during flight duties. PIA issued a circular stating that air hostesses can possess only one packet of cigarettes during flight duty.

The circular further clarified that an air hostess is allowed to have only twenty cigarettes during a single flight duty.

Legal action will be taken against air hostesses who violate the new restrictions.

Under such legal action, violators can be suspended or removed from flight duties.

In June this year, the PIA issued a new directive imposing strict restrictions on smoking and the possession of tobacco products by cabin crew members.

Under the new policy PIA flight attendants have been prohibited from carrying cigarettes, cigars or other tobacco products in their personal luggage.

The airline has also imposed a complete ban on smoking during flights, hotel stays and in public places while crew members are on duty.

The move is expected to create challenges for crew members who are habitual smokers, as the restrictions significantly tighten existing regulations governing staff conduct.

PIA management has directed all crew members to ensure full compliance with the new policy, warning that any violation will result in immediate suspension and disciplinary proceedings.
