The Punjab government has launched a new information technology (IT) internship program aimed at providing practical experience and employment opportunities to young graduates.
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has launched the IT Internship Program in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), which will offer paid internships to 2,000 recent graduates in IT and computer-related fields.
Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs.50,000 during internships lasting between four and five months.
The program is designed to help young people gain industry-relevant experience, strengthen their digital skills and improve their prospects of finding jobs in Pakistan’s growing technology sector.
Eligibility:
Applicants must have completed at least 16 years of education, such as a BS or honors degree, in IT or a related field. Eligible disciplines include Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Science, Graphic Design, and Information Systems.
Applicants must have completed their degree within the past four years and must be unemployed at the time of applying.
The program is open to men, women, and transgender applicants holding a Punjab domicile.

Applicants will need to provide: National Identity Card (CNIC) or B-Form, Punjab domicile, educational certificates or degree, Recent photograph, updated CV, Contact details, and Experience certificate, if applicable

Eligible candidates can register online through the Punjab government’s official internship portal: cmitinterns.punjab.gov.pk
Participating IT companies will receive Rs 12,500 per intern per month in financial support, enabling them to provide interns with hands-on experience through practical projects.
The selection process will include profile registration, an aptitude test, verification of educational qualifications by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and an interview.
Selected candidates will also have the opportunity to obtain internationally recognized IT certification alongside their internship.
