Karachi police solve double murder case, arrest three suspects

KARACHI: Bin Qasim police have solved the double murder case and arrested three suspects, police told ARY News.

The body of a woman was recovered near Jinnah Gate on September 30. The deceased was identified as 26-year-old Kashaf, who was five to six months pregnant. A dead fetus was also recovered, police said.

Police said Kashaf was shot dead and her body was dumped in bushes. She was in contact with Yasir Durrani despite their divorce, according to police.

Yasir allegedly planned Kashaf’s murder with his brother-in-law, Taimur. Police said Kashaf was shot inside a car, while Yasir’s wife Saba was also present in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The suspects placed Kashaf’s body on the back seat of the car and dumped it near Jinnah Gate, police said.

Bin Qasim police arrested Yasir, Taimur and Saba with the help of technical and investigative information. The weapon used in the incident and the vehicle were also taken into custody.

Meanwhile, Initial investigation into the murder of an 18-year-old girl, allegedly at the hands of her father and two brothers, has revealed that she was subjected to sexual abuse inside her own home.

According to police, the victim, identified as Maham, was sexually abused by her father and two brothers.

Police said Maham’s initial postmortem confirmed sexual abuse.

According to the investigation, Maham’s mother died a few months after her birth, following which her paternal aunt raised her. The sexual abuse allegedly began while she was living at her aunt’s house.

After Maham returned to her father’s home, her father allegedly sexually abused her. Her two brothers later also allegedly subjected her to sexual abuse, following their father’s example, police said.

Police further alleged that Maham was repeatedly burned with a heated iron rod.

On the day of the incident, the suspects were allegedly torturing Maham when she died.

Police said further sections may be added to the case after the detailed postmortem and forensic reports are received.
